Born Joanna Zarur in Mexico City, she pursued higher education at the University of Alabama and studied pre-law and economics at Stanford University, a testament to her multifaceted background and JoJo Zarur, a Mexican-Lebanese powerhouse, is not just a reality TV star but a celebrated name in fashion and interior design. Gaining national attention through Love & Hip Hop: Miami, Zarur’s journey has been fueled by her education, creativity, and cultural pride.
Before her reality TV fame, Zarur carved a niche as a celebrity stylist, earning acclaim for her work with A-list names like Young Thug, T-Pain, and NFL star Alvin Kamara. Her innovative approach to style includes blending men's and women's fashion and customizing pieces to suit her clients' bold personalities. For example, Zarur’s collaboration with Young Thug showcased her fearless creativity, from crafting standout red coats to designing hybrid outfits that defined the rapper’s trailblazing image. Her influence extends beyond music, having styled personalities across sports and entertainment.
JoJo’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish Zarur Boutique, where she offers exclusive pieces and styling services. While her Miami-based boutique reflects her roots, Zarur’s lifestyle is undeniably global. Recently, she celebrated a career milestone by visiting Times Square to see her digital billboard and reconnect with longtime collaborator Johnny Shabe, CEO of The Confessional Showroom. Together, they’re planning a Billie Blunt Magazine cover shoot, highlighting Zarur’s dual success in interior design and fashion styling. When it comes to providing service to clients, JoJo Zarur states, “I believe that our homes should tell a story and reflect our personalities and interests. To me, the source of inspiration as an interior designer & builder is the customers themselves. Every single time, the customers’ story and background inspires me to design their home, to their taste and wish. For Will Anderson Jr, he is a young successful bachelor who loves and appreciates fashion and art. He likes to be different in every aspect. That is why I decided to create a very unique, masculine and trendsetting aesthetic. With a lot of character that is almost impossible to recreate because I designed and built every room from scratch. In addition, l painted & furnished the entire house black with the only accent being the art. Even though black is a very bold color that most designers shy away from, for me, I am very much like my client, I like to do things that nobody has ever done or is scared to do. There is beauty in rarity. There is beauty in taking chances. However, there's a leap of faith that I take in every single one of my designs. I never play it safe which causes the process to be filled with anxiety and obstacles. But in the end, the design always comes together and it gets the recognition that it deserves. The process is never easy but like you see in this project it was well worth it. Now people can use this home as an inspiration for designs. This is a trendsetting project that I am so proud of and happy that my client believes that I over-achieved his high expectations.”
Though now residing in Texas, Zarur’s vibrant cultural identity remains central to her narrative. Her Mexican and Lebanese heritage informs her designs and personal style, enriching the spaces and wardrobes she curates. Whether on television, at a high-profile styling gig, or reshaping interiors for A-list clients, JoJo Zarur continues to redefine what it means to be a modern-day renaissance woman in the luxury lifestyle industry.
